Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt- Video

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt

Today, on our 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt with tire size 19560R15's, we'll be test fitting the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part number PW1030. We'll begin our test fit by laying the chain out on the ground, where we'll make sure we get out any kinks and tangles within the chains themselves. You'll notice here on the tire chains that where the cross chain connects to the side chain, the tabs are labeled "tire side." We'll want to make sure that this faces the tire, ensuring a better fit while not possibly damaging the tire. We can now take the chain and drape it over the tire, making sure that we center it with the tire tread. We'll now move to the inside of the tire here at the six o'clock position and connect the two ends of the side chain together. Now, we want to make sure we take out as much of the slack as possible. The excess side chain can be hooked back to itself using this tab here. Now with our inside chain on, we'll go ahead and move to the outside. more

Michelin Easy Grip Snow Tire Chains Review - 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt

Today on our 2010 Chevy Cobalt we'll be test fitting the Michelin Easy Grip Composite Snow Tire Chains, part number 9800400. Now these chains will improve your driving safety on treacherous roads. They use a poly-mesh construction and steel cleats to provide grip while also offering a smoother, quieter ride than metal chains. To begin our installation all we'll need to do is take the chain out of the bag, drape it over the tire making sure that the metal cleats stay centered in the tire tread. As we work the chain around the tire, we'll need to rotate the tire 180-degrees where we can then get out and install the rest of the chain. You'll notice that the red straps pull tight because of the elastic band on the inside of our tire chains. more
